2015 President’s Award

Champion Lakes Boating Club have many people that have achieved a lot of impressive performances, and are a credit to their efforts and the efforts of their coaches.

And like any good team, whether it is football, motor racing, or most other sports, there are always those working in the background to help the competitors achieve their goals.

And Champion Lakes is no different. There are people in the background that look after and maintain our equipment, or keep an eye on our assets. There are also those that help out with all the fundraising, or encourage people down to the club to try out the different sports.

Their efforts may not be seen by everyone, but they certainly don’t go unnoticed.

This year’s Presidents Award is bestowed onto one of these ‘unknown’ people.

The recipient has been a member of kayaking for 3 years and became their newly appointed Seniors Rep on the kayaking Sub Committee this season, showing his commitment and enthusiasm for our club.

He rides his bike to and from his house in Armadale and around the lake most days and often encourages locals to come and try our kayak days.
He paddles 3-5 times a week, and always keeping a close eye on things in and around the boatshed.

He is also the kayak boat storage officer and keeps an eye on all boats stored in shed one.

And, as a self-appointed guardian, is keeping a close watch on CLBC assets.

It is with great pleasure that this year, the President’s Award is presented to Allan Mumford in recognition of his contribution to the club.
